TEC 4 upgrade with a Felix board with screw terminals upgrade

Hi,

I just received my dual 3.1 to TEC 4 upgrade and I immediately noticed that the wire leads of all the components are all crimped. The Felix board on my 3.1 has only screw terminals (my printer was a dual Felix 3.0 I bought used, which I converted to dual 3.1 around 1 1/2 years ago).

I have no problem cutting the crimps for all wires concerned but there seems to be +/- marks on the wires on the new TEC 4 hotend thermistors but there are no indications on the Felix board about polarity, like those on the fans. Is there really a polarity I need to keep for the new thermistor?

I'd appreciate your help here, I don't want to damage anything while upgrading, since shipping is expensive from Europe to Canada.

Thanks in advance!

I’ve just finished my Tec 4 upgrade. I indeed cut the crimped connectors and “just” connected them to the screw terminals without trying to figure out polarity and it just worked.

This kinda makes sense as thermistors are AFAIK just a variable resistor and resistance doesn’t care about polarity.

Good luck with the upgrade!

Thanks Jan, pretty much what I figured (a resistor's a resistor), I just wanted to be extra sure since there were no mentions.

Just finished upgrading and uploading the firmware, now onto calibration! Thanks again!
