Less loaded 12V power rail for LED bar?

Post by fesch » Wed Dec 31, 2014 12:00 pm

Hi

Having followed these instructions (http://forum.felixprinters.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=105), I managed to fix a LED bar to my Felix 3.0.

My questions is if I can connect it to any of the two 12V power rails? The LED bar draw about 520mA. Maybe one of the two rails is less loaded than the other?

Thanks in advance ... and a happy new year to all of you :-)

Answer to myself: Seen from behind the printer, the right most 12V rail seams to be used to drive the motors and as far as I was able to measure, it draw about half of the power of the left 12V rail.

I just wonder about the values I got from my multi-meter: 52mA for the right rail and 98 for the left one. That's quite impossible I think ...

Anyhow: the LEB bar works fine. It's just flickering a bit when the printer is in action, but that OK for me.
