feed speed reduction for "skin layer" in flat parts

Post by Niho3D » Fri May 13, 2016 11:37 am

I was wandering is there a way to generally slow down the final "skin" layer in g code.(to work with flat surface parts).

I know it could be done by replace command in g code editor but basically every line has a feed speed defined.

Is there a way ( command) to reduce feed by a desired percentage?

I noticed that if i slow it down in the end i get better surface quality on flat parts but i cant always be there waiting for the last layer to come .

Thanx

Feeling silly after looking into setting and seeing feed speed for skin fill

Otherwise, the G-code (or rather M-code) for setting a new feed rate is
M220 S<percent>

In general, you can activate "Echo" in the "Manual Control" tab in Repetier host to see the G-code that is sent to the printer as you change the settings via the Repetier controls.
