Felix 3.0 OS X Baudrate Error [Solved!]

Post by mpvarrenti » Tue Mar 24, 2015 10:48 am

Attempting to connect to Felix 3.0 (from DIY kit) on OS X 10.10.2. Have hit a bit of a roadblock and am seeking guidance.

Have been able to establish connection through Repetier-Host Mac 0.56. Status in Repetier reads "Unknown printer firmwareWaiting for temperature."

5 commands are waiting and I can't clear these by resetting the board.

Printer firmware is Repetier 0.922 and VCP drivers are 2.2.18.

Screenshot of printer settings in Repetier are attached.

Clearly the first step is admitting you have a problem...

Moments after making this post, I was able to fix this by following the steps laid out here http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=198539.0

In short:
From the terminal:
cd /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns
sudo mv AppleUSBFTDI.kext AppleUSBFTDI.disabled
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions

Restart your computer

Install the original FTDI Virtual Com Port drivers found here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
For anyone else having similar problems, I'm more than happy to provide any further info which may be useful.
