Problem with steppers for x y axis

Post by hoopty1234 » Fri Mar 06, 2015 6:07 pm

I seem to be having issues with the X-Y axis. the Y axis seems to stutter a bit when moving long distances. when this happens I usually end of with the stepper losing its index and it starts printing in the wrong area. This happens multiple times and I end up with a mess all over the table. I have tried adjusting the pots and do not seem to be getting anywhere. I am turning the X and y counter-clockwise for more current. The motors do not get hot. I checked belt tension and the carriage travels smoothly.
Feed of PLA seems to be a bit spotty as well as it never flows great. I have cleaned the nozzle with the bit I bought from Felix.

Oh most importantly I have the Felix 3.0 dual print extruder.

Can someone help me?

Sounds like you need to increase the motor current by adjusting the POT on the controller board for the Axis in question.

Try stalling motor with your hand on an axis move of 100mm or more, adjust and retry, you will find a spot where it will take a lot more to stall, then during printing monitor to make sure it's not too hot but touch, if so then then it needs to be backed off a touch.

You should do for all axis
Stephen...

Felix 2.0 -> Felix 3.0 dual
Simplify3D Slicer, Kisslicer
Have you added your Felix to the Map? http://goo.gl/maps/HajnZ
