Pinout/config/compatibility for the Tec4 graphic display?

Post by andrewsi » Tue Apr 17, 2018 2:52 am

I am experimenting with the new Klipper firmware on GitHub, which has been working great so far. Someone's recently added ST7920 support to allow some displays to work, and I'm curious whether this is the same hardware used in the Tec4 graphical display. If so, can someone please help me figure out which pins correspond to the CS, SCLK and SID (data) lines? I've tried a variety of values from looking at several of the headers for the Repetier config for Felix but I haven't found one that works yet and I'm not sure if it's because I haven't chosen the right pins, the hardware isn't compatible, or there's some other problem.

Thanks!

Solved it myself.
Add the following to the Klipper printer.cfg file:

[display]
lcd_type: st7920
cs_pin: ar16
sclk_pin: ar23
sid_pin: ar17

It's a SPI interface from the mainboard that is expecting an ST7920 chip at the other end, which is responsible for controlling the LCD from the commands and data sent over the SPI interface.
